No other builder in San Antonio customizes, or draws Architectural building plans, completely free of charge. Following our process, you will only ever pay for the home you actually build, not arbitrary fees that add no value to your home.

Meet the Team

Tim RiceFounder, CEO

Tim Rice has been crafting fine homes since 1983. He saw a need for a local, hands-on builder who could provide custom luxury design and quality at a competitive price, and so in 1998 he established Whitestone Custom Homes in San Antonio, Texas. At Whitestone, we use the trademarked "Practical Luxury Program"™ and have become one of the premier custom homebuilders in the area.

Katie SachsePresident, Operating Partner

After successfully serving as a decorated United States Marine, Katie began a career in new home sales. In 2016, she interviewed with Whitestone Homes and the rest as they say, is history. Katie joined the team as Director of Sales and Marketing, then continued to climb the ranks to become Division President in 2020. With Tim as her Mentor, she intends to continue the legacy he began in 1998, steering Whitestone through its next 25 years. Update: Katie is now an official owner in the company!

Delana RiceAdministrative Manager, Contracts and Closings Coordinator

Delana has been working in administration for the homebuilding industry since 1985. Her Dad was a sub-contractor mainly in the flooring business but graduated into building homes and developing raw land. She also worked for a builder in Austin when the family lived there. In 2002 she joined the family business at Whitestone and has been running a tight ship ever since as the hub of the business office. She manages all sales contracts, liaises with the City, ACC's and all Lenders, and helps customers in their final closing arrangements.

Preston RicePurchasing and Estimating Officer

Preston entered the industry in 2018 running estimating take-offs for Energy Efficiency. In 2020 he joined the ranks at Whitestone learning the ropes in the Purchasing and Estimating department. He then transitioned to 2 years of successfully building homes for new customers, as well as assisting current homeowners through customer service. He is now back in our corporate office, applying all of his gained knowledge and experience towards running the Purchasing and Estimating Department in full.

Wendy VenskeSenior Superintendent and Warranty Customer Service

Wendy began her career with Whitestone homes in 2004, in Warranty Customer Service. From there, she quickly moved up to become an adept Superintendent, demonstrating excellent project management skills. Wendy has been a huge part of Whitestone Homes now for a very long time. In her almost 20-year tenure, she has successfully completed hundreds of homes while taking a major hand in vender and trade management, as well as new-hire training in her department. She is a true leader here at Whitestone.

Shane BillingsSuperintendent and Warranty Customer Service

After many years of customer service and sales management, Shane joined the Whitestone team, heading up warranty and customer service in 2021. From that point, he quickly became a "jack of all trades" carrying duties both in warranty and on new home projects still under construction. After proving himself time and again, he moved into the role of full Superintendent in 2022. Shane has repeatedly gained the trust and respect of his customers, through his great attitude and his constant drive to deliver quality homes. With Shane, if there is a way he will figure it out. We are very happy he is building homes for us.

Jennifer McQueenSales Counselor

Jennifer has been in sales, customer service, and management for both since 2005. Well-accustomed to exceeding all goals placed in front of her, she looked for a new challenge in 2023 and found it in the world of new home sales, with Whitestone. Jennifer immediately began succeeding, quickly endearing herself to staff and customers alike with her fantastic work ethic and dedication to a job done right.

Robin RitchieSales Counselor

Robin has a had a long history of working in different aspects of the real estate and customer service industry. From new-home sales, to property management, to community HOA management, she has a full breadth of experience to offer. She's found great success here at Whitestone, and she stands poised and ready to assist our customers with their dream home!
